The Warmer Homes Scheme
A separate, fully funded SEAI scheme for eligible owner-occupiers, now including solar PV and battery where the home is suitable.

Check all four conditions
Warmer Homes is for homes that meet all of these:
- You own and live in the property as your main home
- It was built and occupied before 2006
- You receive one of the seven qualifying social welfare payments
- SEAI's home survey finds the property suitable for the upgrades
How it works
You apply on a separate Warmer Homes portal, not the usual solar portal. SEAI checks eligibility, surveys the home, decides which works suit it, and appoints its own contractor.
SEAI currently advises that a contractor may not be in touch until roughly 15 months after you apply, and being eligible does not guarantee solar PV at every home.
This one is run entirely by SEAI, so you cannot choose Bright Star as the installer under Warmer Homes. We have laid it out here so you know the option exists. If it does not fit, the standard or enhanced grant might, and we are happy to talk you through the difference.
